Shelter Collection Drive

We are excited to announce that for the 33rd consecutive year, Fox 44 and Channel 33, along with their family of stations, have joined forces to support our Bishop Ott Shelter Program. We invite you to join the sponsors,  Baton Rouge Clinic, Albertson’s and Subaru, in this meaningful cause by helping us collect essential items for those in need.

Many of the individuals who seek assistance from our shelters often arrive with little more than the clothes on their backs. Toiletries—such as toothbrushes, razors, shaving cream, soap, and shampoo—are not only necessary for personal hygiene, but also for preserving their dignity and self-esteem as they work to rebuild their lives. These items are vital for those looking to make a fresh start.

If you would like to help with the collection drive, we have compiled a list of the most urgently needed items at our shelters. As you consider what to donate, think about the impact these items will have on the lives of those we serve.

Donations can be dropped off through December 31st at the Baton Rouge Clinic, Albertson’s, or directly at the Bishop Ott Shelter at 1623 Convention Street.  For more details, visit our website or contact us at (225) 383-7837, ext. 0.

Urgently Needed Items for the Bishop Ott Shelter:

·       Toiletries: deodorant, soap, shampoo, body wash, lotion

·       Paper Products: napkins, paper towels, toilet paper

·       Disposable Items: cups, plates, bowls, cutlery (knives, forks, spoons)

·       Rain Gear:  rain ponchos, umbrellas

·     Other Essentials: blankets, disposable diapers (adult), men’s, women’s, and children’s undergarments, socks, knit caps, gloves, scarves

Thank you for your continued support in helping those who rely on our shelter services to rebuild their lives.
